Thanks to the $500 donation from FundaKohli, the scarlet macaws found 3 new artificial nests in the Hotel and Club. There they not only have a place to take refuge, but mainly a place to form a new family of macaws.
The nests, built with fiberglass and made by “ex laperos”(ex macaw hunters) in the area –which have been working with the conservation program for years- were placed in “pochote”, “gallinazo” and “guayabón” trees more than 25 meters high, which have a strategic location.
As if that were not enough, the nests are monitored 24 hours a day and 365 days a year by specially located cameras, which can be seen on our website www.hotelpuntaleona.com, or directly at www.fotonaturaleza.net/camaras.php
The donation was made thanks to the intermediation of the Mareblu organization, which is based in the Hotel and works with volunteers for beach cleaning and environmental awareness.
Hope for all is the mission of women and children behind the Kohli Foundation.
Costa Rican Wendy Kohli, wife of the entrepreneur, businessman and philanthropist of Indian origin, TehKohli, has focused her efforts on improving the quality of life of the less fortunate in national society.
Since 2005 he has been working on the issue of child nutrition in communities at social risk. He has also fought for animal welfare and protection. These efforts are not carried out as charitable work or mere corporate responsibility, but as a strategy to ensure that every human being can be able to become a productive member of society
